Daniel M. Chace, 78, of Windham, passed away October 14, 2018. He was born on August 31,1940 in Somerset , MA. He was very proud of his Marine Corp.

service including his appearance as an extra in the movie, The Longest Day. Dan was employed by Friendly’s Ice Cream Corp for many years where he made many lifelong friends. After his retirement he went on to work for Nassiff’s For Sports.

He was a huge proponent of recreational sports and spent many hours coaching Willimantic Midget Football including being a founding member of the Windham High school booster club which allowed for the lights to be installed for the football field. Dan was also an avid New York Giants and Boston Red Sox Fan. He is survived by his siblings, Susan Chace and Philip Chace, his children Debbie Chace-Galligan, Pete Chace and his wife Suzanne, Chrissy McCarthy and her husband John, and Sammy Chace, and his stepdaughters Becky Randazzo and Niki Nadeau.

He was the proud Grampy of 14 grandchildren. Dan also was a foster parent and surrogate father to many. Calling hours are at Potter Funeral Home on October 16, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The memorial service will be on October 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Windham Center. Burial will be private.
