Daniel E. Foster was born February 12, 1992 in Lincoln. He grew up in Wahoo and graduated from Wahoo High School in 2010. Dan worked in residential construction as a framer and was attending Southeast Community College.

Dan could at times be “the life of the party” giving contagious hugs and doing silly things to make people laugh. He had a smile that could light up a room. But Dan also enjoyed the solace he found by being alone in a quiet place where he could draw or write.

Dan’s son Gordon was the light of his life. He took every chance to wrap him in his arms, share their thoughts with each other and show him how to seize the joy in every moment. They spent a lot of time fighting killer clowns with Nerf guns, working on projects and making a game out of anything they could get their hands on.

Dan and Gordon had the opportunity to share lots of adventures and road trips and made friends together wherever they went. Gordon will carry Dan’s huge spirit and his mountain-moving attitude with him throughout his earthly journey, as well as the wealth of love and knowledge that he gave him. An avid lover of nature, Dan spent as much time as he could in any natural setting but mostly at Harmony Park in Minnesota, and at Pioneer Park in Lincoln where he would hike, often with his son, Gordon.

Dan traveled as often as he could, especially to places like the Black Hills and to Ponca where he attended Tribal Gatherings. Dan was often the leader of a healthy rivalry with his siblings. His ornery nature kept the other in line and on their toes.

With his friends, Dan enjoyed playing Disc Golf, or Frolfing as they called it. His friends were like family to Dan who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He kept his birthday sacrosanct and insisted on never attending school or work on that day.

Dan seemed always to find a way to turn a negative into a positive. He enjoyed his time alone when he could reflect, draw, write, and engage in arts and crafts activities. Dan is survived by Gordon Foster – the child of Kinsey Clark and Dan Foster; his girlfriend Kia Beason of Lincoln; his mother Vivian Vanderlinden of Lincoln; stepfather Brian (Kathy) Vanderlinden; father Larry Tucker of Holdregde siblings Jessee (Tiffany) Huls of Odebolt, Iowa, Cathy Davidson of Cedar Bluffs, Melissa (Erlich) Merida Ruiz of Lincoln; grandparents Inez Foster of Wayne, Nebraska, Thomas (Katie) Davidson of Ozarks, Missouri; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
