Matheson Jr., Daniel Leslie Ocala – Daniel Leslie Matheson, Jr. 77, passed away June 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born September 13, 1940 in Northfield, Vt. to Daniel Leslie Matheson, Sr. and Freida Ryan Matheson.

He was the oldest of seven children. He graduated form Montpelier High School in 1958, and was drafted in the US Army in 1963 and served until 1966. He married Judy Mae Kramer on June 30, 1962.

Upon leaving the Army he went to work for Rouleau Granite in Barre Vt. In 1981 his family moved to Cornish Maine to purchase Benson’s Monument, a business which he operated until 1999 when he moved to FL. He lived in Lake Como until 2014 when he moved to Ocala.

He is predeceased by his parents, by his wife Judy, brother James and sister Marylin. He is survived by his wife Dianne Boyce Matheson; four brothers Stanley, wife Kay, Bruce, wife Linda, Fred, wife Karen, Keith, wife Brenda; his children Karen Babb, husband Les, Kim Kennedy, husband Jeff Manson, Jason Matheson, wife Marie, Craig Jacobs, wife Cyndi. He was adored by 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday June 9, 2018 at 11:00 at the Refuge First Baptist Church of Citra with Rev. Bob King officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The First Baptist Church of Citra: PO Box 216, Citra FL 32113-0216.
