Mr. Daniel Riley Cockrell, Jr., age 54, of Decatur, died Monday, October 15, 2018, at his residence. His family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date. Shelton Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Mr. Cockrell was born February 5, 1964, in Birmingham, to Daniel Riley Cockrell, Sr. and Sandra Ayers Cockrell. He is survived by three sons, Daniel Blake Cockrell (Crystal) of Huntsville, Zachary Cockrell (Amanda) of Athens; and Talon Lee Cockrell of Decatur; father, Daniel Riley Cockrell, Sr. (June) of Athens; mother, Sandra (Ayers) Cockrell Gewin of Decatur; one brother, Michael Shane Cockrell of Navarre Beach, FL; one sister, Sabrina Cockrell of Decatur; one grandson, Wilson Grant Cockrell of Athens; and one granddaughter, Annabelle Dylan Cockrell of Huntsville.
