Daniel M. Senkiewicz “Dan,” 77, of Johns Creek, GA, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 5, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel H. Senkiewicz and mother, Sophia Senkiewicz. Dan was born in New York City, NY on January 6, 1941.

He attended Power Memorial High School. He received an Associates degree in Dentistry from the City University of New York. Dan volunteered for the Army Draft in 1963.

He served in the Dental Core and achieved the rank of a Spec 4 prior to being honorably discharged. Dan worked for United Parcel Service as a Division Manager for Loss Prevention for over 35 years before retiring. Dan had a passion for helping others.

He regularly donated food to the church during the holidays to feed the homeless. He was an avid supporter of the Covenant House for runaways in New York City. He volunteered as a security specialist for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dan and his wife Helen regularly attended and were active in supporting the Epiphany Catholic Church in Roswell, Georgia. He will always be remembered for his loving support and willingness to help others. Dan married Helen (Rozos) on June 27, 1965.

He had a deep love for his wife of 53 years and affectionately referred to her as his bride. He had an undeniably generous heart and a very special bond with his children Karen and Danny and his three grandchildren Matthew, Lexie and Andrew. He was the “Rock” of the family.

He is survived by his wife Helen; and children: Karen Maloy of Greenville Delaware and Daniel M. Senkiewicz of Cumming, Georgia; grandchildren: Matthew Maloy, Alexandra (Lexie) Maloy, Andrew Senkiewicz; brothers: Joseph Senkiewicz, Michael Senkiewicz; brother-in-law: Mike Rozos, George Rozos, Nick Rozos; sister-in-law: Louise Rozos, Diane Rozos, Marsha Rozos, Meridee Senkiewicz: in addition to countless other nieces and nephews and their children. Services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018. There will be a Visitation from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York 10532.

Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 12:00pm, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York 10532. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Covenant House of New York located at 460 West 41st Street, New York, NY 10036-6801 in memory of Daniel M. Senkiewicz.
