Daniel Webster Beard, Sr. was born December 13, 1939 to Mary Jane (Tompkins) and Henry Beard in Kokomo, Indiana. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Daniel graduated from Morton Memorial High School in 1959.

Upon graduation from high school he perfected his baking skills with JoAnn Bakery in Kokomo. He was employed by Continental Steel Corp, Red Ball and Chrysler. He retired from Chrysler after 40 years of dedicated service.

He was a member of the UAW. His pride and joy was his membership as a charter member of the Road Knights Motorcycle Club in Kokomo. He had been an active member up until his time of death.

Daniel’s last days of employment were spent as a crossing guard at Maple Crest and Boulevard Schools. He looked forward to greeting the staff, students and parents each year. Daniel committed his life to Christ at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Kokomo and in his later years; he joined Mt.

Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Lonnie E. Anderson, Jr He served on the usher board and was a greeter. On August 16, 2016 Daniel was united in holy matrimony to Shrivonne Newman in Kokomo, Indiana.

He was a loving and devoted husband. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife; Shrivonne Beard; sons, Daniel (Esther) Beard, Jr. and Bruce Beard both of Sacramento, CA,; grandson, Nelson Beard of Fairfield, CA; great granddaughter, Maliah Beard; stepchildren, Andrae Newman of Kokomo, Shridonne Benjamin of Indianapolis and Shana Newman of Muncie; sisters, Waneta Durham, Denise (John) Terry and Charlene Beard all of Kokomo; 13 step grandchildren; and a host of loving in laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
