Obituary for Daniel Ybarra Sr. Hidalgo, TX – Daniel Ybarra Sr. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at McAllen Medical Hospital at the age of 85. He was born on September 22, 1933 to the late Prajedes and Guadalupe Ybarra. He is preceded in death by his siblings Ramon Ybarra, Manuel Ybarra, and Maria Gonzalez.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 65 years, Guadalupe Ybarra of Hidalgo, TX, and his loving children: Dagoberto (Sylvia) Ybarra, Graciela (Rogelio) Ozuna, Sylvia (Virginio) Gonzalez, Daniel (Jovita) Ybarra Jr., Rigoberto (Laura) Ybarra, Jaime Ybarra , and Javier (Honesty) Ybarra. He is also survived by his siblings, Raul Ybarra and Francisca Moroles, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. He was a hard working Rancher, who loved spending his time riding his tractor and tending to his cattle at the family ranch.
He was a man of many talents who worked for Hidalgo ISD for more than 30 years and also served as a volunteer Firefighter for Hidalgo Fire Department, he will greatly be missed by all. Pallbearers will be Dagoberto Ybarra, Javier Ybarra, Joshua Ybarra, Rigoberto Ybarra Jr., Mark Gonzalez & Miguel Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers Jaime Ybarra, Daniel Ybarra Jr., Rigoberto Ybarra and Virginio Gonzalez.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen, TX. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Sacred Heart Church in Hidalgo, TX. Interment will follow at Hidalgo City Cemetery.
