Obituary for Samantha Renee Garcia McAllen, Texas Samantha Renee Garcia, 27, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 15, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Doctor Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. “Sammy” as she was lovingly known by her family and friends was born on January 14, 1991 in McAllen to Gerardo and Sylvia (Rodriguez) Garcia. Sammy was a life long resident of McAllen and was a graduate of McHi class of 2009.

She attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she was involved with the ACTS ministry. Sammy enjoyed spending time with her family and having slumber party’s with the love of her life, her daughter Etta Jaide. On January 2018 Sammy was proposed to by the man of her dreams Benjamin Cortez.

As the “Hippie” child that she believed she was, Sammy truly enjoyed life to the fullest. Sammy will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends. Sammy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents-Rodolfo and Feliciana Garcia and her maternal uncle Michael Rodriguez.

Left to cherish her life and memory is her beloved daughter Etta Jaide; her father Gerardo Javier (Thelma) Garcia, her mother Mary Sylvia Garcia; Siblings- Geraldo (Patricia) Garcia , Maritza Garcia; fiance Benjamin Cortez; Maternal grandparents – Elias and Benita Luna, Estanislado Rodriguez; An extended family of Aunts Uncles,Cousins, and Friends. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Visitation will continue on Thursday,December 20, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM A celebration of life service will be on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen. Cremation will follow at a later time.
