Danny Gilbert “Pops” Grady, 67, of Asheville, North Carolina, formerly of Princeton, NC and McAllen, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Mission St. Joseph’s Hospital in Asheville. Pops was born in Johnston County, North Carolina on April 6, 1951to the late Ruby Lucille and James Gilbert Grady. He was a member of Palm Valley Church in McAllen, Texas.

Pops enjoyed traveling, fishing, NASCAR races, and watching western movies. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Danny R. Grady and Jerry L. Grady; and a sister, Cassie L. Grady. Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Susan Grady Lightner of Asheville; a sister, Barbara Ann Bissette and husband Edward; a brother, Jerry L. Grady and wife Brenda, both of Princeton, NC; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Overbee Cemetery in Brogden, North Carolina.
