Darlene Marie Persechino, 53, of Torrington passed away peacefully at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on May 11, 2019. She was surrounded by her family. Born September 2, 1965, in Hartford, CT, Darlene was the beloved daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Ann (Amicone) Testanero.

Throughout her childhood, Darlene deeply enjoyed being involved in community activities, including softball and dance. She graduated from Torrington High School, Class of 1983, which led her to have a variety of administrative positions, including her last job as a front office secretary at Har-Bur Middle School. Darlene married her high school sweetheart Tony Persechino on September 9, 1988.

She is survived by her husband; their two children, Michael and Katie Persechino; her brother, Vincent Testanero, and her niece Isabella Testanero. She also leaves behind many dear friends that she considered family, along with three loyal pets, Cooper, Leo and Lily. Her favorite pastimes included spending time outdoors, talking with friends, listening to the music of the Eagles and attending Bruce Springsteen concerts with Tony.

The beach, interior design and giving back to her community were a few of Darlene’s passions. By far, her favorite thing in life was being a mother to Mikey and Katie. Private funeral services have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home.

There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lourdes in Litchfield Shrine, P. O. Box 667, Litchfield, CT 06759-0067 or do what Darlene has requested and “do a random act of kindness for someone” in her honor. Condolences may be sent to Darlene’s family by visiting www.
