Darrell Vaughn Howard November 20, 1963 – January 15, 2019 Darrell Vaughn Howard, born November 20, 1963 to the union of Arthur Sr. and Alice Howard, was the fourth of five children and the youngest of three boys. He accepted Christ in 1973 at the young age of 10 years and was baptized at Holy Trinity Baptist Church by the late Reverend Henry J. Payden. Darrell attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1982.

He worked for Mr. Coffee until he acquired his CDL from Tri-State Truck Driving School. He went on to work for Penske Logistics performing the job of his dreams, east coast Truck Driving. Darrell continued to work for Penske until an unfortunate accident caused a debilitating health condition.

This did not stop Darrell from being the very independent person that he had always been. On “good days”, he would catch up on things that he had not been able to do on the “bad days”, including phone calls. On a good day, he would make his phone calls and you’d better have at least two hours to spare.

If your phone battery died, he’d say “charge up your phone and I’ll call you back in about an hour”. Sure enough, he would call you back with a “let me tell you this last thing”. Darrell followed in his dads footsteps, keeping in touch with family members and attending as many family reunions as possible.

He was a passionate fisherman, hunter and gardener but, most of all, he loved to grill, he once said “I’ll put a piece of bologna on the grill”. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Darrell will be greatly missed and leaves to morn, his mom Alice, two sisters, Lynita (Stanley) and Karen (Cincinnati, OH).

One brother, Alan Keith, One sister-in-law, Patricia. Three aunts, Carrie Jones (Cleveland), Catherine Heard (Ray, Montevallo, AL) and Fran Cheryl Burns (Birmingham, AL), one uncle, Reverend Albert Jones (Montevallo, AL) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very special friends. Darrell was proceeded in death by his father Arthur Sr., oldest brother Arthur Jr. and nephew Lil Stan.
