DARWIN GAPPA, age 68 of Sidney, IA died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, IA following a brief illness. Darwin was born June 6, 1950 in Council Bluffs, IA to Joseph Gappa and Thelma Deloris (Wilson) Gappa. He was a member of the Teamsters Union for many years and worked in several jobs including Construction, Truck Driving and Bartending.

He was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Hutchison on April 1, 1994 in Sidney, IA. Darwin was preceded in death by… Read More » his parents and a sister, Toni Wilcoxen. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Gappa of Sidney, IA; son, Mike Frey, Todd Gappa and Frank Gappa; step son, Brian Whipple and wife Angela; granddaughter, Briane Evans and husband Scott; 2 brothers, Kermit Gappa and Craig Gappa both of Council Bluffs, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

There will be private family services at a later time, there will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sidney Fire & Rescue. The Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA is in charge of arrangements.
