David A. “Dave” Heroux, 68, of Franklin Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at his home. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dave was born July 20, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to Fredrick R. and Betty J. (Cook) Heroux. He moved to Carlsbad in 1993 and married Lorraine Sowers October 25, 1996. Dave was self employed over 40 years in the fabricating and auto restoration business.

He built several cars including a monster truck “Godzilla”. Dave was a genius and talented with his hands, building and constructing anything. He was a member of Boilermakers Union and Teamsters Union.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Heroux and daughter, Tommie McCormick. Survivors are his wife, Lori Heroux of Carlsbad, NM; son, Dale Loftis; daughters: Charla Hodge and husband, Kelly, Mandy DeMoss; grandchildren: Dustin, Kaitlyn and husband, Justin, Michael, Brittany, Cecilio, Jr., Jeremiah and Yslas and great-grandson, Bryson.
