David’s Obituary David Newhard, 76, of Northampton, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He was the loving wife of late Shirely N. (Rice) Newhard who passed away May 29, 2019. Born on October 9, 1942, he was the son of the late Walter and Delthine (Becker) Newhard.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy; he enlisted in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1963. Dave loved fishing and gardening. In his earlier years he also enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by siblings: Judith, wife of Donald Kovach, Northampton; Sandra, wife of Paul Marth, Northampton; Bill Newhard, and wife Donna, Fort Myers, FL; and half-brother, Patrick Schmidt, Northampton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predecased by three brothers: Richard Newhard, Bruce Newhard, and James Newhard.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Miller Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with arrangements.
