Obituary for David Casimer Boron David Casimer Boron, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather died Thursday, July 5th at the age of 71, from A.L.S., which was diagnosed in September of 2017. Dave was born on August 10, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. When he was 18 months old his family moved to Schofield, Wisconsin, where he enjoyed his summers with his many cousins working on his grandparents’ farm, along with fishing trips with his dad, uncles, and cousins.

He graduated from D.C. Everest High School in 1964. He attended Wausau Technical Institute for a year and a half before enlisting in the Army in 1966. He served as a radio repairman in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in September of 1968.

Dave worked for Tennant Company in Golden Valley, Minnesota from November of 1968 until his retirement in July of 2007, during which time he earned an associate degree in Engineering from Anoka Ramsey Community College. In October of 1968, Dave married Phyllis Kakoska. They lived in Blaine, Minnesota where they had three children.

They were divorced in 1984. Dave married Katherine Kelly Ring on June 13, 1987, and moved to the Anoka, Minnesota area. They lived there with her two young daughters.

On June 5, 2016, Dave and Kathy moved to a new home and hobby farm they built on 20 acres just north of Hastings, Minnesota. Dave liked to hunt, fish, and snowmobile. He enjoyed trail riding and driving, and was a member of the Minnesota Trail Riders, Manes and Tails Driving Club, Back County Horseman (both in MN & AZ), as well as Superstition Horsemen of Apache Junction, Arizona.

Dave and Kathy enjoyed trail riding and horse camping throughout the western and southern states many weeks each year. After retiring, they especially loved their time riding, dancing, and socializing during the winter months with their many friends in Apache Junction, Arizona. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Casey and Sue (Zogata) Boron of Schofield, Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Boron of Hastings, MN; his sisters, Darlene Suebert (Tony) of Peshtigo, WI and Doreen Waksmonsky (Frank) of Weston, WI; his son, Kyle Boron (Melissa) of Sauk Rapids, MN; his daughters, Shannon Rognlie of Apple Valley, MN and Melissa Boron of St. Paul, MN; his step-daughters, Melissa Griffith (James) of St. Paul, MN and Nicole Freitag (Jim) of Prescott, WI; his two granddaughters, Kasey Rognlie of Woodbury, MN and Samantha Rognlie of Farmington, MN; two grandsons, Jackson Freitag and Alexander Freitag of Prescott, WI; three nieces; two nephews; and many cousins. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday (7/11) at 11:00 AM at Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held on Tuesday (7/10) from 5:00 – 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St. Hastings and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
