Obituary for Pamela J Pitcher Pamela J. Pitcher, age 68 of Hastings, passed away on Sunday morning, November 25, 2018 in Hastings. Pamela Jean, the daughter of Wayne and Johanna (Jesperson) Sinnen, was born on March 30, 1950 in St. Paul, MN. Growing up on the east side of St. Paul, Pam enjoyed boating on the St. Croix River with her family.
Following her education at Winona State University, she was an elementary teacher for many years. During her time at Winona State, she was set up on a blind date where she met the love of her life, John “Jack” Pitcher. They were united in marriage on June 17, 1972.
They lived in Lakeland for 38 years before moving to Hastings. Following her years of teaching, she began working for Ramsey County. Following her time at Ramsey County, she went back to teaching.
When she wasn’t teaching, she enjoyed traveling the country with Jack, especially to California and Florida. She loved music, including singing and teaching piano lessons. She also taught art classes in the summers with her daughter Sara.
She was preceded in death by, parents; and step-father Rudy Miller. Pamela is survived by, husband John “Jack” Pitcher; daughter, Sara Pitcher (Sampson Ayenyimo); grandchild, Oliver Nsobila; brother, Kevin (Cathy) Miller; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Reverend Doug Duin officiating.
Interment will take place at Evergreen Community Cemetery in Afton. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Wise Family Funeral Home & Crematory and continue one hour prior to the service at church. Arrangements are being completed by Wise Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Hastings.
