Obituary for David Eugene “Gene” Singleton Mr. David (Gene) Singleton of Brundidge passed away Wednesday, September 12th, 2018, at Noland Hospital in Dothan. He was 66 years old. Gene was a truck driver for Wayne Farms for many years which he dearly loved.

Service for Mr. Gene Singleton will be at 2:00 pm Friday, September 14th at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Brother L.B. Cox officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Bethsaida Church Cemetery, Highway 239, Clayton, Al, with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Gene was born to the late Edgar and Essie Grubbs Singleton on July 25, 1952, in Barbour County. He was survived by his wife, Mary Dean Singleton of Brundidge; daughters, Marie (Ricky) Thomas of Josie, Lynn Cole of Troy, Paula (Chuck) Barrentine of Brundidge; a sister, Joy Messick of Goshen; brother, Vernon (Diane) Singleton of Troy; nine grandchildren: Lauren Campbell, David Thomas, Megan Roberts, Bailey Thomas, Brandon Sewell, BreAnna Sewell, Madison Sewell, Connor Cole, and Hayden Barrentine; six great grandchildren, several nieces, several nephews, and two special children, Tina Mitchell and Maxine Cooper. A special thanks to our family for all their love and support.

He was preceded in death by a brother, A.V. Singleton, sisters, Grace Clark and Annie Faye Brooks, infant baby daughter, and a son in law, Chris Cole. Pallbearers will be Mac Surles, Keith Singleton, Kevin Singleton, Kenneth Singleton, Tony Wood, James Harrelson, and James Thomas Ledbetter; also, Honorary Pallbearers Donald Messick, Keith Oakes, Terry Singleton, Leonard Singleton, and grandsons.
