David’s Obituary David John Wolanske, 73 Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother Rindge, NH-David John Wolanske, 73, formerly of Westminster, died peacefully Wednesday evening, November 21, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Dave is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann L. (Martin) Wolanske; three children, Maria Hatch and her husband Alan of Westminster, Timothy Wolanske and his wife Heather of Westminster and Michael Wolanske of Westminster; six grandchildren, Trevor Wolanske and his wife Keyahria, Shannon Leahy, Victoria Wolanske, Lauren Hatch, Sophia Wolanske and Megan Wolanske; one sister Susan Boucher of Dennis, MA; several nieces and nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Wolanske.

Dave was born in Gardner, May 14, 1945, a son of the late Benjamin and Jennie (Dokurno) Wolanske. Dave worked for the former New England Telephone then Verizon as an engineer for over 35 years, retiring in 2001. He graduated from Gardner High School in 1963 where he starred on the football team and was well remembered for rushing for the winning touchdown on Thanksgiving day versus a heavily favored state champion Nashua team capping one of the most exciting football games in Gardner High history for which he was inducted into the Gardner High Hall of Fame.

He went on to play college football at UConn. Dave loved all sports and was very active. He played racquetball at the state championship level, he enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing and was on the ski patrol at Mt.

Wachusett for many years. He was a great family man and volunteered his time and talent coaching the Westminster Little League and even built the “snack shack”. He enjoyed boating in Maine, at Lake Winnipesaukee and at his home in Rindge.

In his retirement years Dave loved building and flying radio-controlled planes and working in his wood shop. Dave enjoyed spending winters in Florida, cruising to many of the Caribbean islands, and traveling to see the National Parks, but his favorite times were spent with his family and friends at his cottage on Lake Contoocook. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 12pm in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main St. Westminster.

Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home from 10am until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center, 275 Nichols Rd. Fitchburg, MA 01420.
