OBITUARY David L. Johnson October 30, 1930 – December 23, 2018 David Lee Johnson Sr. born October 30, 1930, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Friend passed away December 23, 2018. Dave graduated from Creston High School in 1949 and after graduation joined the Military to serve his country during the Korean War. Dave later worked at Joseph Vrana & Sons for 45+ years where he skillfully reupholstered antique cars.

He is survived by his four sons; David (Leslie) Johnson Jr., Bob Johnson, Bruce (Sherrie) Johnson , Jeff (Lisa) Johnson, special friend Jerry Beak (Dora) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his younger years, Dave loved to square dance, bowl and take in a Tigers baseball game or two. Later in life, Dave enjoyed trying new places to take his kids out to eat and never missed Sunday breakfast with his sons.

Our family wishes to express how grateful we are to the staff at Heron Manor for their years of kindness and wonderful support. We are also very grateful to the compassionate staff at the Sanctuary at St. Mary’s where Dave spent the last months of his life. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26 from 5-7pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel Funeral Home at 2815 Fuller Avenue in Grand Rapids, MI 49505.

The family will celebrate his life with a private service and burial.
