DAVID LEE BERGMAN, age 68, of Luverne, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. He was born July 10, 1950, in Luverne, to Ervin and Elsie (Gerloff) Bergman. He graduated from Magnolia High School and later from Pipestone Vocational School as a meat cutter.

Dave married Connie Hanssen on March 13, 1971, in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple lived in Sioux Falls for a short time where Dave worked at Sunshine Foods. They then moved to Luverne where Dave worked as a Veterinarian Assistant at Rock County Veterinarian Clinic; and at South Western Youth Services in Magnolia.

Dave also raised stock cows for over fifty years. He enjoyed attending flea markets and all of his grandchildren’s sporting events especially football & basketball. Dave traded and sold collectable toys and antiques.

He loved to drive around in his pickup visiting with his family and buddies. Dave is survived by his wife, Connie Bergman, Luverne; daughter, Angela (Tony) Olson, Garretson, SD; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sydney and Collin Olson, all at home; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bergman, Luverne; nephews, Brian (Tami) Bergman, Brad (Paula) Bergman, Andrew (Angelique) Hanssen and Aaron (Taylor) Hanssen; and a niece, Cassandra (Derek) Marshall. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Lloyd and Leon Bergman Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne.

A private family committal of cremains will take place at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
