“Karaoke” Dave Dials David Lee Dials, known locally as “Karaoke Dave” passed away on January 9, 2019 at Trinity Health Center at the age of 65. Dave was born on December 22, 1953 in Steubenville, Ohio and grew up in Toronto, Ohio. After graduating from Toronto High School in 1971 he studied at Broadcasting School and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado.

He served tours of duty in Germany and Thailand as a radio engineer. After the Air Force he lived in Fort Myers, Florida but eventually made his way home to the Ohio Valley and spent many years entertaining as a DJ and Karaoke artist for a long list of venues and private receptions. He was a world traveler and talented in many areas but his real passion was music.

A gifted musician and great singer, he sang and played with the local band “Desperado” and several instruments including guitar, drums and even the tuba! Dave will be sadly missed by his wife of 19 years Jeanne (DiBiase) Dials, his mother Rosemary Macik Dials, his twin sister Debra Dials Trimby, brother Mark Dials, sister Aleta Dials (Eric) Palmer , nephew Nick Trimby, nieces Alyssa (Renee) Hickman, Danielle (Zack) Doggett, Samantha Palmer, four great nieces and nephews, step children Gina Sharpe (Tommy Shepherd) Hacker, Sean (Laura Miser) McCullough, Brent (Julie) Scopel, and eight step grandchildren, and one great step grand- daughter. His father James Edward Dials passed away in 2009.

Friends, fans, and family will be received on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto, Ohio from 11am until 2pm. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 2pm at the funeral home with Father Thomas Vennitti officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Toronto American Legion Honor Guard at the funeral home Saturday following David’s service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered at the funeral home and will be given to the family. Interment will be private.
