OBITUARY David Lee Haley March 30, 1945 – October 21, 2018 David Lee Haley, age 73, passed away October 21, 2018. David was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired Denver Police Officer. He joined the Denver PD in 1969 and joined the bomb squad in 1976.

He was a member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (I.A.B.T. I), and was the lead bomb tech at Columbine. He earned 3 medals of honor, 2 purple hearts, 3 distinguished service police merit awards, 4 unit citations, and 30 official letters of commendation.

David is survived by his daughter Shannon Haley; siblings: Kathy Hurr, Priscilla Romero and Patricia Carabetta. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11:30 in the Olinger Crown Hill Pavilion of Reflection, interment will follow at Ft.

Logan National Cemetery.
