Obituary for David Walter David L. Walter, 70, of Carlinville, IL died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville, IL. He was born December 19, 1947 in Springfield, IL to Julius and Mary Walter. He married Alice Hartsook (Mayes) on February 29, 2000.

David served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and then retired from Lewis Bakeries in Springfield, IL. He enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola and Sunbeam memorabilia as well as watching classic movies. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: His brother, Steve (Mary) Walter, his children, Courtney (Jason) Shepard, Lisa (Ken) Morrow, Jennifer (Alex) Elkins, and D. Michael (Nicole) Walter, as well as 8 grandchildren and one niece, Elizabeth Walter. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at Camp Butler Cemetery on a future date.
