Funeral services for David Ray Jenkins, 62, will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Grace Church of the Nazerene; 5403 Pinestraw Rd, Columbia, SC 29206. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Mr. Jenkins passed away Monday, February 11, 2019.

Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Clarence R. and Eva N. Jenkins. He was one of the oldest living members prior to his passing at Grace Church of the Nazerene. He loved helping children of all ages, anywhere from the baseball fields to the church nursery.

He was well known in the community in offering candy suckers for children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was considered the “Best Daddy in the World”.

He is survived by his wife; Dawn Jenkins, son; David Jenkins (Nikki), daughter; Dyanna Harmon (Roger), grandchildren; Dakota and Danika Jenkins, and Aaron and Emilea Harmon brothers; Steve and Tommy Jenkins, sister; Katherine Porter (Preston), and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, and a multitude of children’s lives he impacted.
