A Memorial Service will be celebrated for David W. Root on Thursday November 1st, 2018 in the MacDonald, Rockwell and MacDonald Funeral Home, Watertown at 11:00 am. David is a son of the late Worth S. and Ruth (Peters) Root. He passed away in the Mount Auburn Hospital on October 25, 2018 after a very long period of declining health.

He was 77. Born in Greenfield, MA, David grew up on the family farm in Colrain, MA. He graduated from Arms Academy High School in Shelburne, MA and received his degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

He and Elaine were married in 1965. Together they owned the Exotic Fish and Pet World in Hadley, MA. David loved cooking, retiring as head chef at a local college.

He is the beloved husband of the late Elaine C. (Munroe) Root. Dear brother of Nancy Wheeler, Karen Fish and the late Phillip Root. Also loved by nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Thursday November 1st 2018 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
