OBITUARY David Wayne Starkey March 5, 1957 – November 3, 2018 David Wayne Starkey was born in Seattle Washington on March 5, 1957 to George and Beverly Starkey he was the 3rd of 4 children. They moved to Dallas in and around 1960. David was in the Navy and very patriotic.
He loved this country, our flag and pledge of allegiance. David was definitely an avid sports fan. He loved watching football as many as 8 games at a time.
He kept stats on every sport including wrestling. His favorite team of late was the Dallas Maverick. He attended all the playoffs and championship games he was always hoping and scouting for a better year.
In 1964 Starkey Service Center was established by George W Starkey, David took over ownership with Rodney Starkey in 2016 after the passing of their dad George David went to work everyday, rain, shine, sleet or snow. He hated phones and computer but probably still had his 1st dollar he ever made. He loved animals.
David would help you if you needed it. He would give a boost, gas or cash if you were family or friend. David loved his family and was very loyal to his parents George and Beverly making sure they always had something to eat as well keeping their yard looking great all the times.
He was very opinionated and outspoken on him being right and you’re wrong. While in kindergarten with Susan, he was very shy and Susan talked to him. He also like playing with fire when he was a child burning the bathroom and his daddy had to break down the door because he didn’t want that whooping (but got it anyway).
He caught the backyard on fire once in Pleasant Grove and ran and hid then is sister Susan talked to the fireman after the neighbor put the fire out (he had burned army men with gasoline) as always his sister Susan covered for him. David got sick about a year ago and found out he had several health problems. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in the presence of his sister and mom.
Susan advise him as they prayed that God could turn it around with better eating habits and Dr. visits which he also hated. On October 20th David suffered a widow maker heart attack and tried to overcome and survive for two weeks and then in the hospital. With family surrounding him playing nurse, prayers and love by the Grace of God.
David finally left his world in Peace and into the arms of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. David leaves behind his precious little mama Beverly, brother Rodney, sisters Debra and Susan Starkey. No more pain and suffering.
He will be deeply missed but we will see him again when God calls us home.
