It is with sadness the Andersen family announces the too early passing of our beloved David Andersen on January 18, 2019. He was born to Gene and Marlene Andersen in Vancouver, WA on June 3, 1954. He attended Hough, Shumway and Hudson’s Bay High School.

He was a lifelong resident of Vancouver, WA. David loved nothing more than to be on the deck of a boat, fishing pole in hand. Some years ago, he fulfilled his dream and acquired his boat, Johnny B. David had bragging rights that it was once owned by one of his heroes, Cincinnati Reds baseball player, Johnny Bench.

Being a sportsman and an outdoorsman, David loved fishing, clamming, crabbing, and any athletic sports. He was a fan of the Mariners, Seahawks and the New York Yankees. Those who knew David would have heard him talk about his Koi, each one with a name and a history.

Summer days working around his yard and at the pond were his joy. David’s passion was his family. He was involved in coaching Jordan and Erin’s sports teams and of late, helping with his beloved granddaughter London’s softball teams.

In his retirement years, many days were spent with his grandson/sidekick, Porter. David met Chelle and Daniel in 2002. They were married in 2012, honeymooning, doing what else?

…fishing in Alaska. Together with their family and friends, they enjoyed a very happy life of travel and making merry at the beach. He had a long career as a new construction plumber, working for UA local 290.

David was loved by many and will maintain a place in many friends heart. He leaves his loving wife, Michelle Bennett; children, Jordan Andersen (Ashley), Erin Andersen (Jamie) and Daniel Cullinan; parents, Gene and Marlene Andersen; brother, Rick Andersen (Lorry); sister, Linda Edison; and beloved grandchildren, London, Porter, and Cohen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Penny Andersen.

We will miss David’s quick smile and generous spirit. Please join us in a Celebration of Life at the Water Res Education Center on Columbia way, Vancouver, WA on February 2, 2019, at 2 p.m. To send flowers or a remembrance gift to the family of David Andersen, please visit our Tribute Store.
