DeAnn Brown January 12, 1947 – December 27, 2018 Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card DeAnn (Burk) Brown, of Shawnee, OK, left this life December 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by family and friends at the age of 71. She was born in Shawnee, OK on January 12, 1947 to Harry and Delores (Stout) Burk. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1965.

In April 1973 she married Bill Brown, Sr. at Stubblefield Chapel. They were married almost 27 years when she endured his passing with strength and grace knowing they would be together again someday. DeAnn worked as a pharmacy tech since the mid 1980’s.

She started at Mission Hill Memorial Hospital, then moved to Unity Health Center, and landed at her beloved Eric’s Pharmacy. At Eric’s Pharmacy, she worked, officially, as a pharmacy tech and served, unofficially, as the social matriarch – “Mother Brown”. Always lovingly level-headed, well spoken, and very generous with her loyalty, guidance, and trusted advice.

Her other job (and greatest joy) was serving her children and being a devoted caretaker “MiMi” for her grandchildren and an integral part of their upbringing. Her love, support, and devotion to each was both immense and unwavering. Her positive influence and example will remain in our hearts forever.

DeAnn loved the Lord and especially loved ALL of the “angels” He strategically placed in her life. She loved her family and her friends without reserve. DeAnn was an avid lover of traveling and fanatical about Mickey Mouse, and she was thrilled beyond measure when she was able to combine the two – Disneyland!

DeAnn is survived by her sons, Bill Brown, Jr., his wife, Nicole, of Edmond, OK, Brent Brown, his wife, Stacie, of Shawnee, OK, three grandchildren, Will Brown, III (Edmond, OK), Bella Brown (Edmond, OK), Addison Brown (Shawnee, OK), her sister Harriet Byers (Shawnee, OK), her uncle & aunt Billy Herman & Billie Gene Stout (Oklahoma City, OK), multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and all of those who cherished her as a “surrogate” mother. Services will be held Saturday January 5, 2019 at 2 PM at Walker Funeral Service Chapel located at 201 E. 45th St. in Shawnee, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to “Make-a-Wish Foundation” in memory of DeAnn.

The family kindly requests casual Mickey Mouse attire to honor her quick witted sense of humor and help us celebrate her “Happiest Place on Earth”. Mickey ears are also highly encouraged.
