Deborah L. Riley age 62 of Conneaut, died at her residence on Sunday morning, December 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was born in Conneaut on October 30, 1956 the daughter of Richard and Marguerite Hess Tessmer. Debbie was a 1975 graduate of Conneaut High School.

She waitressed at the former Beef ‘n Beer, machine operator at Webb’s and was the owner/operator of Deb’s Tree Farm on Wetmore Road in Conneaut. Debbie was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association and was known as a “dead eye” for her shooting skills. She was the first woman volunteer Firefighter for Station 4 in Conneaut.

She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cross-stitch and making prayer shawl’s for others. She loved the outdoors, camping, baking and canning, Debbie was most proud of the fact that she home-schooled her children. Debbie is survived by her father Richard Tessmer and step-mother Sandra Tessmer, her husband Charles Riley whom she married April 27, 1985 at St. Mary Church, three children, John Henry Paul Riley, Courtney (Tom) Spencer of Conneaut, Jolene (Brandon) Gaines of Rome, Ohio, brothers, James Tessmer, Rich Tessmer, sister’s Pam (Ron) Butts, Michelle (Bryan) Powell, Annette Nelson, all of Conneaut, four step sisters Renae, Beth, Kathy, Laura and step-brother Tim, and her grandchildren George Spencer, Emma Grace Spencer and Braden Gaines.

She was preceded in death by her mother Marguerite Hess Tessmer, step-sister Jenny Johnston and step-brother Keith Johnston. A Memorial Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Mary Church, 480 State St, Conneaut with Fr. Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.

Disposition of her ashes will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to Susan G. Koman, Dept. 41831, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.

Envelopes will also be available at the Raisian Family Funeral home, 581 Harbor St, Conneaut, where arrangements are being handled. Donations may be made to: Susan G. Koman Dept.
