Deborah Lynn (Debbie) Crosley, 64, of Yorktown, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on September 5, 2018 following a hard fought battle with her sisters by her side. Debbie was born July 1, 1954 in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. She was a 1972 graduate of Yorktown High School.

Debbie was the Mt. Pleasant Township Assessor for 22 years and served as deputy assessor for 13 years prior. She retired from the Delaware County Assessor’s office in 2014.

Debbie was a member of the Yorktown Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she was retired as a Deacon Emeritus. She was a member and past president of the Muncie Women’s Bowling Association where she was inducted into the women’s hall of fame. Other memberships include, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the Women’s Democratic Association.

Debbie enjoyed bowling, golf, softball, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Debbie is survived by her father, Lloyd Kem, three sisters, Cindy Speidel, Kathy Blanton (husband Tim), and Jama Hole (husband Jim); seven nieces and nephews, Stephanie Benson (husband Ben), Michael Speidel (fiancé Brittney), Brandon Blanton (wife Krisa), Daniel Blanton (wife Jordan) Angela Hoppe (husband Bill), Jessica Hoffer (husband Josh) and Julia Oliver (husband Tommy). Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jo Kem; a sister, Tammy Sue Kem; and a nephew, Nicholas Blanton.

A funeral service to celebrate Debbie’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St., Yorktown, IN 47396. Pastor Jeffrey Castetter will officiate. Cremation will follow funeral services.
