Debra Vattelana , May 26, 1963 — July 06, 2018

Debra Vattelana, 54, of Jackson, formerly of South Amboy passed away Friday, June 6, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision in Freehold, N.J. Born and raised in Newark, She moved to South Amboy in 1973. She settled in Jackson in 2016. Debra graduated from Our Lady of Good Council Grammer School in Newark, H.G. Hoffman High School in South Amboy and Middle County College where she earned an Associate of Science degree, majoring in secretarial science.

Debra then went on to complete the requirements to earn a certificate in paralegal studies. Throughout her career, Debra was employed as a paralegal for several area law firms. Debra was a long time parishioner at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy and since relocating, Saint Roberts Ballarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold.

Debra enjoyed jogging. . For exercise, she would jog the track and paths of the Middle County College Campus .

She participated in Frog Hollow Swim Club runs and other area charitable races. Above all, Debra was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Predeceased by her father Benito E. Vattelana and her sister, Donna Marie Vattelana, she is survived by her loving mother.

Millie Vattelana and her loving siblings, Darlene Berg, and her husband, Nuno, Denise Partacoski, and her husband, Steven, Benito Vattelana, and his wife, Deborah, Dawn Ragonese, and her husband, Joseph, Frank Vattelena, and his wife, Donna, Luigi Vattelana, and his wife, Martha, and Patrick Vattelana and his wife, Judy as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom Debra loved dearly and thought the world of. Debra will lie in repose in the chapel at Saint Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, N.J. on Tuesday July 10 from 2 PM to 9 PM. A funeral mass will be said Wednesday, July 11 at 11:30 AM at Saint Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the chapel beginning at 10:30 AM We will begin proceeding to the church at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Saint Gertrudes Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave. , Colonia, N.J. Whiteley Funeral Home, South Amboy, N.J. in in charge of arrangements.
