Delores “Dee” Campbell age 72 of Cottondale, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019, at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama from complications stemming from cancer. She was born on July 28, 1946 in Binghamton, New York to the late Robert and Doris Hawkins. She graduated from Sidney High School in Sidney, NY.

Dee has been a resident of Cottondale since 1986 and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cottondale for over 30 years. She led many of the church’s group activities including the music program and children’s puppet programs She also led a nonprofit food service for the Cottondale area. In doing so, she received the Jefferson Award for her outstanding public service to her community.

She enjoyed church, traveling and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Campbell, grandchild Cole Campbell, and one sister-in-law Sandra Vermilyea. Delores is survived by two sons Richard Campbell, II, and Michael Campbell and his wife Melinda, grandchildren Chase Campbell, Hailey Campbell, Isabelle Campbell and great grandchild Harper McKinnon, all of Cottondale.

Siblings Randy Hawkins of Texas, and Jacqui Green of Sidney, New York. She is also survived by cousins Hiram & Donna Wagaman, of Pennsylvania, in-laws Gary and Patricia Gonyea, Darlene Campbell, and Elaine Starbuck, along with lifelong friends Mike and Cathy Hawes. Services for Dee will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 31, 2019 with the Rev.

Mike Hawes officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
