Memorial Services for Las Animas, Colorado resident, Sue Bewley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Seed and Supply Church in Las Animas, Colorado with Pastor Rod Coulter officiating. Per Sue’s request there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. Deloris Sue (Canfield) Bewley, known to most as Sue, was born to Herbert Floyd and Sylvia Irene (Harrington) Canfield on February 9, 1934 in Las Animas, Colorado.

Sue was born in Las Animas, in 1934 and lived in several different areas during her marriage. Eventually, she returned to Las Animas to live out her life. She married Herb Bewley, from the Hasty area.

From their love, they produced five precious and wonderful children…gifts to the Canfield and Bewley families. When Herb left his wife, she raised and nourished her children alone. Her greatest pride was that each of them became wonderful adults: Debbie, Pam, Terri Rae, Sandy and Dee were her delight.

She loved each and every one of them unconditionally. When the Bewley clan grew, she was overjoyed to have grandchildren & great grandchildren around. If there was one quality of her character that everyone who knew and loved her could agree on, it was that she was not only a strong woman, but strong willed and had strong opinions.

She passed away on February 25, 2019 at the Bent County Healthcare Center in Las Animas, Colorado at the age of 85. Sue is survived by her children, Deb (John) Abdulla, Pam (Tom) Cortez, Teri (Brian) Jeffryes, Sandi (Mike) Ortiz, and Dee Duane Bewley; siblings, Donna (Larry) Webb, Donald (Janet) Canfield, and Earnest Burette Canfield; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild arriving in June 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Irene Canfield; and sister, Barb.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bent County Recreation Center in care of Horber Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 431, Las Animas, Colorado, 81054.
