Dempsey “Ted” Reed 83 of Brimfield, passed away Friday October 5, 2018 at his home. He was born in Clay, West Virginia on March 27, 1935 to the late Levi and Lottie (Frame) Reed. Ted has lived in Brimfield the past three years but lived most of his life in Rootstown.

He was the owner of Ted Reed Excavating and was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Joan (McBroom) Reed whom he married August 25, 1958, his children, Ted (Elizabeth) Reed, Diane (Randy) Rochowiak, David (Vickie) Reed, Sheryl Reed, Janette (Rodney Hall) Reed, 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and siblings Betty Arbogast, Evelyn Groesbeck, Daniel Reed, Samuel Reed, Calvin Reed, Melvin Reed and Dencil Reed.

In addition to his parents he was preceded n death by his son Timothy Reed and siblings Christine Butler, Donald Reed and Barbara Toth. Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM until time of funeral services at 12 PM on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
