Dennis Edward Keene, age 86, of the Reynolds Ridge section of Bandy, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at his home following a lengthy illness. Dennis was born on December 1, 1932 in Buchanan County, Virginia to the late Glenn Keene and Winona Cole Vandyke. He was a member of the Reynolds Ridge Community Church.

Mr. Keene was also a retired coal miner and member of the Jewell Valley UMWA Local #7327. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Those left to cherish his memory include His Wife, Marie Barrett Keene; Sons Dennis Keene, Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Dale Keene and wife, Kay of Bandy, Virginia Daughter Sharon Owen and husband, George of Snellville, Georgia Grandchildren Kristen Minnix, Shawn Owen, Lindsey Compton, and Jared Keene.

Six Great Grandchildren A host of additional family and friends also survive. Funeral services for Dennis Edward Keene will be conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Reverend Paul David Crawford and the Reverend Lonnie Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Owen, Jared Keene, Ashton Compton, Tony Minnix, James Harman, James “Randy” Kinder, Bob Hicks, and Johnathan Minnix. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of the service on Saturday.
