On Saturday, October 6, 2018, Dennis Ray Helmick, beloved son, brother, uncle and cat owner passed away at the age of 63. Dennis Ray Helmick was born on June 9, 1955 in Delta, Colorado. He served in the Army, being honorably discharged in 1979.

He spent a few years in California before returning to the Portland area, where he worked for a traveling carnival. He later worked for Portland Metro for 25 years as a supervisor for Portland’s Centers for the Arts maintenance staff. Dennis’ humility, sense of humor and love for all living things will be missed.

Dennis leaves behind his mother, Marie Stewart, and six brothers, Jimmy Helmick of Lander, Wyoming, Richard Helmick of Delta, Colorado, Mickey Helmick of Henrietta, New York, Kelly Helmick of Oregon City, Oregon, Christopher Stewart of Portland, Oregon, Thomas Stewart of Portland, Oregon and his beloved tabby cat “Mamma Kitty”. Dennis’ memorial service will be held Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at Carus United Methodist Church at 1pm.
