Dennis Thomas Shoop, 77, of Washinton Twp. , PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at QLS West Haven Manor. A son of the late Thomas Shoop and Thelma B. (Shoemaker) Shoop, he was born September 11, 1941 in Kelly Station, PA.

Dennis was a graduate of Washington Twp. High School where he had played football, basketball and baseball. He had been employed as a chemist with NUMEC before retiring.

Having served during the Vietnam War, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Dennis had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Leechburg and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed visiting about the Leechburg, Washington Twp.

and Ford City areas, especially “Happy Day” restaurant in Leechburg. Surviving is his sister, Linda Lou Shoop of New Kensington, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Lee Shoop; and a sister, Trudy Tai (Shoop) Schenkel.

There will be no public visitation or funeral ceremonies. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).
