DeWayne’s Obituary DeWayne J. Haberman, age 81 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his residence. DeWayne John was born January 14, 1938 in Owatonna, Minnesota to Richard and Loretta (Hondl) Haberman. He was a graduate of the Owatonna High School.

DeWayne served in the U.S. Army from June 10, 1955 until his honorable discharge on June 15, 1958. DeWayne was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Schweisthal on September 18, 1965 in Faribault. They raised their two children and have resided in Austin their entire married life.

DeWayne had a long career as an engineer with KAAL TV in Austin. In his early years, he enjoyed pro stock drag racing, and restoring collector cars and tractors. Over the years he enjoyed his involvement with the Mower County Fair.

He is survived by his children, John Haberman, and Jaylene Haberman, both of Owatonna; grandchildren, Lukas and Holdyn; extended family, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly (Schweisthal) Haberman in 1994. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17th from 2 to 4 pm at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
