Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Dewey Wayne Williams age 85, U.S. Army Retired, will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the Whispering Pines Baptist Church. Rev. Kitral Benton will officiate.

Burial will be in the Darlington Memory Gardens with full Military Honors, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Williams was born in Amhurst, Texas a son of the late Thomas Eugene Williams and Virgie Bolton Williams.

He was retired from the US Army after 22 years of service as a Chief Warren Officer. He was a member of the Whispering Pines Baptist Church. He later retired from Klopman Mills after 13 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Outlaw Williams, Hartsville; two sons, David (Vickie) Williams, Hartsville and Walter (Trudy) Williams, Ellijay, GA; three daughters, Jean (Robert) Connell, Hartsville, Sarah (Cary) Friedman, Lexington and Connie Smith, Hartsville; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Williams, 1 son, John Gainey and 1 daughter, Lisa Howell. Memorials may be made to the Whispering Pines Baptist Church Building Fund, 2182 N. Fifth St. Hartsville, S.C. 29550 Norton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Williams family.
