Dianne Walker, 77, formerly of Cadott and currently of Chippewa Falls, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 under the wonderful care of St. Croix Hospice and the staff of Our House Memory Care. She was born October 7, 1941 to Lorraine Devine (Olson) and Robert Robinson. Dianne married Thomas Swoboda and they later divorced.

She married Harry Walker on New Year’s Eve of 1994. She started in the modules department at Cray Research in 1985, moved to Celestica in 1998 and eventually retired from there in 2001. She also worked as a bartender for Bogies Bar in Chippewa Falls for many years.

Her and her late husband’s hobbies included rifle/bow hunting and fishing. We have many stories and polaroids about their hunting adventures that we’ll be sharing for years to come with the grandkids. Thanks “killer” and “guide”.

Caring for their large garden and canning all the vegetables was something they also enjoyed together. Some of the older grandkids will remember eating the carrots right out of the garden whenever they visited. There were regular trips to the casino together and, before her passing, with Dianne’s mother Lorraine Devine.

Survivors include her children, Craig (Marilyn) Swoboda of Chippewa Falls, Daniel (Tracy) Swoboda of Fallbrook, CA, Joe (Leslie) Swoboda of McFarland, WI, and Lisa (Michael) Hernbrott of Bloomington, IL; siblings, Gary (Kay) Robinson of Fort Worth, TX, and Robert (Donna) Robinson of Green Bay, WI; grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Boegh of McFarland, WI, Hayden (Cassandra Clark) of Eau Claire, WI, Bryan (Kayla Tingle) Swoboda of Nashville, TN, Krystal (Steven Lukasiewicz ) of Omaha, NE, Rachael Swoboda of Eagan, MN, Alex (Christi) Swoboda of McFarland, WI, Bryanna Swoboda of Mc Farland, WI, Caiti (Kevin) Gentes of Normal, IL, and Daniel Hernbrott of Seattle, WA; step-grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Nutt of Murietta, CA, Bryan (Jenny) Pastor of Temecula, CA, Michael (Julie) Pastor of Vista, CA, Amanda (Terrance) Gleason of Escondido, CA, Christopher (Nellie) Pastor of Escondido, CA; great-grandchildren, Lainey Boegh, Jaimison Swoboda, Beckett Swoboda, Lillie and Walker Gentes, and great-granddaughter Boegh due in April. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Walker on January 26, 2018; and her parents. Even as her memory was slowly taken away by this awful disease she could still sing along to all of her favorite Elvis songs.

She didn’t remember her family but she knew we were familiar and she’d always smile and be ready for a big hug and kiss. Like everyone else she would have her good days and bad but on her good days you could still see the old Dianne. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 26 at Central Lutheran Church with Rev.

Aaron Sturgis officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Association in Dianne’s name would be appreciated, www.
