Domenico Gaccione, 83, of Woodlund Avenue, Westerly, passed peacefully on Friday evening, December 14, 2018 at the Clipper Home/Apple rehab of Westerly surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Clorinda M. Gaccione, and sisters Annunziata Scaglione and Teresina Fusaro. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Vincenzo and Angelo Gaccione and sister Maria Salimeno.

Domenico was born in Italy, the son of the late Luigi and Aurelia Gaccione. He first worked for his cousin Angelo landscaping, and then acquired a job working for Harris Graphics as a forklift operator and then a machinist for many years. His passion for the outdoors showed as he was a master at landscaping and vegetable gardening.

People would often stop to admire his beautiful roses and abundant fruit trees. He loved the land and wanted nothing more than to be outside. He passed his love and knowledge of these things on to his loving children.

He lives on in his four children: son Luigi; son Frank and wife, Brittany; daughter Rose and husband, Michael Maloney; daughter Tracy; and two grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Pius Church, 44 Elm Street, Westerly. There will be no procession from the funeral home.

Burial will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. A calling hour will take place before the Mass from 8:30am to 9:30am at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly. For on-line condolences, please go to www.
