Obituary for Don E. Farnsworth Don E. Farnsworth, age 77, of Farwell, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 14, 2018, with his family by his side. On February 19, 1941, Don was born the son of Leroy C. and Laura L. (Mullennix) Farnsworth in Owosso, MI. He was united in marriage to Kathy Jividen on May 26, 1990 in Farwell, and the couple enjoyed nearly twenty-eight years of marriage.

Shortly after his retirement as a skilled tradesman for General Motors and a brief time living in St. Helen, MI. , Don and Kathy moved to their retirement home in Farwell in 2004. There, Don enjoyed a little fishing, reading his bible, watching Detroit Tiger baseball, photographing nature (especially his birds), playing with his cocker spaniel “Doc”, and most of all gardening and landscaping his yard.

Don was a proud Vietnam Era veteran of the US Army and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Clare. He will be greatly missed by his family and cherished friends. Don is survived by his wife Kathy Farnsworth, of Farwell, his sons Don E. (Mary) Farnsworth Jr. and David (Laura) Farnsworth, both of Louisville, KY.

, and his stepchildren Chris (Troy) Carland, of Sanford, Dan Edwards, of Pontiac, Barbara (Tommy) Goodman, of Pontiac, and Amy (Mike Quintanilla) Morrow, of Farwell. Other survivors include his seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and his siblings Nancy Mihalyfi, Faith Rooker, Bob Farnsworth, David Farnsworth, and Bonnie Veitengruber. Don was predeceased by his parents Leroy and Laura Farnsworth and his brother Dan Farnsworth.

A celebration of life in honor of Don will take place on June 16, 2018 at 1 P.M. at the Clare VFW with Pastor Jim Young officiating and military honors to follow. Memorial contributions in honor of Don are recommended to the American Cancer Society. For those who are unable to attend, online condolences may be made at www.
