He leaves his sweetheart of 48 years and the center of his life, Lynn Elizabeth Whittington Roberts. His devoted children who will live to honor him always, daughter Ann Marie Roberts Wiles, partner Andrew Richard Eberhart of Falling Waters, WVA, and Daniel Ryan Roberts, his wife Suzanne Marie Griger Roberts of Boonsboro, MD. Many many nieces and nephews who adored him. He was educated at Frederick High School, Class of 1966. He also received an Associates Degree in Accounting from Frederick Community College.

His first job was at a Service Station on South Street, which started his mechanics and love of cars. He apprenticed and became a self-employed Bricklayer in his early years and then moved to NIH in Bethesda and the Poolesville Farm as Facility Manager. He retired in 2014 and enjoyed his time with his family, friends and hobbies.

His love of cars and collecting them was a hobby he enjoyed throughout his life. He loved everything hunting, fishing, providing the whole family and friends with meats and dried goods from his skills. He was always available to help his family and friends with any and all projects, from building or remodeling their homes to bricklaying firepits for family get togethers.

He always was thinking of how he could help others, no matter what was needed. He loved to cook. His specialties were: Memaw’s potato salad, crab dip, meatballs, fried shrimp and French fries.

He loved picking crab with all his family and friends. He always picked the backfin and handed it over to whoever was to his right or left. So that is where you wanted to sit.

He loved to put out his garden to feed the multitudes and deliver his fresh produce all around town. He kept a well maintenanced home and acreage and enjoyed the home he built in Yellow Springs. You could always find him in his special chair on the back porch surveying his kingdom with a large glass of ice tea.

He loved his beach vacations, the more the merrier. He got great joy in scouting our good foods to share, was the poolside bartender to many, and you never knew what he would drop off at your doorstep. He loved a houseful of people, and shared his experiences and knowledge to those who listened.

Always had a kind smile and word. He made this world a better place. He loved Frederick.
