Mr. Donald “Dwayne” Allen, 86 of Tovey, IL, passed away Thursday July 5, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Dwayne was born April 1, 1932 in Edinburg, IL, a son of Byford and Alberta (Abel) Allen. He was a 1950 graduate of Edinburg High School and served in the U.S. Navy.

Dwayne married Barbara Calvert January 1, 1953 in Sharpsburg, IL and after Barb’s passing he married Dorothy Lisse Dec. 7, 1975 in Kincaid, IL. He worked for many years at the Georgia Pacific Paper Co. in Taylorville, IL, retiring as Assistant Plant Manager.

Dwayne was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid, IL, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a former Trustee for the Village of Tovey and was an avid Cardinal Fan, fisherman and gardener. Dwayne is survived by his daughter, Gayla A. (Bill) Ferry of Virden, IL, grandchildren, Eric A. (significant other; Kimberly Liles) Ferry, Heather A. (Nate) White and Stephanie L. (Matt) Thompson, 6 great grandchildren, 1 step-great grandchild, sisters, Marilyn (Clifford) Oller and Wilma (Buddy) Daniels of Edinburg, IL, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Preceding in death were his parents, wives, Barbara Allen and Dorothy Lisse and a brother Larry Allen. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday July 8, 2018 at Masterson Funeral Home Kincaid, IL with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Chris officiating. Family Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday July 9, 2018 at Bethel Cemetery Sharpsburg, IL.
