Donald E. Starner, age 88 of Biglerville, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center. He was born Thursday, January 16, 1930 in Menallen Twp. Adams County, the son of the late Roy M. and Cora E. (Myers) Starner.

Donald was formerly employed by Rice Fruit Co. for 56 years, performing all duties of fruit growing. He was a sports fan and loved the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, throwing horse shoes and putting puzzles together.

His… Read More » wife, Jean M. Starner passed away in 1990. He is survived by two daughters, Donna J. and husband Ray M. Snyder, Jr. of Gardners, Shirley A. Barrick-Brownawell and companion Amos W. Homan, of Carlisle, two sons, David L. and Julianne Starner of Gettysburg, Robert E. Starner of Newville, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his companion of 27 years, Darlene Cooley of Biglerville.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 13 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Peter Seiler and Reverend William Ingram officiating. Interment will be in Idaville Cemetery.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, c/o Cindy Eyler, 1 Sunset Avenue, New Oxford, PA 17350.
