Donald’s Obituary Donald E. Meisburger, 72, of Wamego, Kansas passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Stormont-Vail Health Center of Topeka. Donald was born July 11, 1946 in Kansas City, KS the son of Dr. Richard G. and Virginia (Smith) Meisburger and attended schools in Kansas City. Shortly following his father’s death in 1954, Donald and his family moved to Wamego where his mother grew up.

He was a loyal and hard worker, working as a self-employed laborer. He also cut and sold a lot of firewood for many years. He enjoyed watching and attending rodeos, local sporting events, going to auctions, riding the train in the city park, listening to opera music, and helping his neighbors with their farms and chores.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Meisburger Webb, and both parents. Donald is survived by two nieces: Jennifer Unnasch (Aaron) and family, Austin, TX, Ginger Robertson (Michael), Austin, TX; a brother in-law, Albert Webb, Austin, TX; two cousins: Madge McDonald, Wamego, KS, Jane Goeckler (Don), Silver Lake, KS, and many other extended family along with his neighbors and friends who were all so very caring to him. Cremation is planned, and a graveside memorial service at Wabaunsee Cemetery will be held on a later date in March.

Date and time will be announced closer to the date of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Mount Mitchell Prairie Guards, and may be sent to Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547. Condolences may be left for the family at www.
