Donald E. (Gene) Johnson, 80, of Muscle Shoals passed away at his home on February 11, 2019, after an extended illness. Gene was a lifelong Boilermaker and a member of Local 455 for 38 years. He served as Secretary/ Treasurer of Local 455 from 1979-1981.

He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley Bevis Johnson; parents, Jesse and Zelma Johnson; brothers, Jesse Johnson, Jr., and infant brother Kenneth Wayne Johnson; nephew, Todd Lindsey; step-daughter, Holly Bevis. He is survived by daughter, Lisa Johnson McGee (Charles); step daughters, Sherry Bevis MacAlester, and Karen Bevis Lockaby; brother, Larry Johnson (Candy); sister, Carolyn Linsey; grandchildren, Heather McGee Montgomery (Andy), Katie McGee Parker (Barrett), and Kyle McGee (Taylor); step grandchildren, Seth Longoria and Rachael Longoria; great grandchildren, Colton Montgomery, Silas and Riley Parker, and Stella McGee; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks to Dr. Brad McAnalley and nurses Melina and Ashley; Hospice of North Alabama, nurse Lori Knight; and brother and sister, Larry Johnson and Carolyn Lindsey for their love and care.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local cancer society. There will be a graveside service with Colbert Memorial assisting.
