Donald Leroy Cole August 16, 1932 – May 23, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card HOLTON – Donald Leroy Cole, 86, of Holton, died Thursday, May 23, 2019 at his home. He was born August 16, 1932 at Oberlin, KS, the son of Jewett and Bernice Eccord Cole. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He had worked in management for Farmland Industries, Inc. for thirty-two years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton, the American Legion and the Elks Club at Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the Jaycee’s in McPherson and Coffeyville, the Kiwanis Club in Council Grove, and was a member and past president of the Interstate Fair and Rodeo at Coffeyville. Don married Phyllis Boyd on February 17, 1956 at McPherson.

She survives, of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Other survivors include a son, Ken Cole (Kathy), Magnolia, AR, a daughter, Kathy Cole-Larrison, Holton, two sisters, Dixie Westerman, Eureka Springs, AR and Joy Cole, Denver, CO, five grandchildren, Megan Jackson (Jason), Andrew Cole, Holli Dieckmann, Shelli Burdiek (Ryan), and Daniel Larrison, and thirteen great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Don will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Memorials are suggested to the Holton Community Hospital Foundation, New Building Fund, and may be sent in care of the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, PO Box 1034, Holton, KS 66436.
