Donald “Pucky” Polkinghorne passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, May 12, 2018 at his home in Ashwaubenon, WI. Loving, kind, respectful, and creative are a few of the words that could be used to describe Don. He had a zest for life and was as happy being surrounded by family and friends as he was relaxing in his lazy-boy with his drawing pad, and his little pup, Gabby.

He loved having conversations and telling stories, but always seemed to listen more than he spoke. Don was born January 29, 1937, in Iron Mountain, MI to Ernest and Elaine (Maas) Polkinghorne and the oldest brother of Duane (Marianne) and Roger (Linda). He attended Iron Mountain public schools and graduated with the IMHS class of 1955.

He was a member of the Viking ski club, played baseball and had a love for drawing and painting. He also worked for his dad during this time at Pucky’s Service Station where his love of cars was born. He held many jobs in the Iron Mountain and Green Bay areas.

In 1966, he became employed at Sommerville and Associates in Green Bay as an Interior Designer of commercial buildings and retired from there in 2008. Of all the positions he held over the years, being co-owner of Kari’s Clip n’ Curl, from 1976 until the present, with his wife Karen, was his favorite. Don is survived by his wife, Karen (Rickel) Polkinghorne of Ashwaubenon; brothers, Duane of Palatine, IL and Roger (Linda) of Thousand Oaks, CA; his children, Jeff (Kim) and Jim (Diane Lange) of Kingsford,MI, Julie (Kevan) Klingberg, of Osseo, WI and ‘surrogate’ daughter, Melissa (Scott) Baker of Ashwaubenon; grandchildren, Erin Joelle, Jennifer and Jordan Polkinghorne, Amanda (Youssef) Mouttaki and Ashley (Anthony) Bibbo; great-grandchildren, Oliver Polkinghourne and Mikhail and Khalil Mouttaki, Jamison Brown, Bowie Glass, Rosalie Bibbo and Miranda Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind very special friends, Jerry and Sherry Erdmann. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Marianne. A Celebration of Life will be held for Don, Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay.

Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Don may be shared with his family on his tribute page at www. lyndahl.com.
