Obituary of Donald Banks Donald Richard Banks, 89, of Walkertown, North Carolina, passed away February 11, 2019. There is no public service scheduled at this time. He was born in Asheville, NC February 25, 1929, to the late Berry Gaither Banks and Pauline Israel Banks.

Donald served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea at the end of World War 2 with the military occupational forces. He worked in Flint Michigan manufacturing cars for many years, as well as over the road trucking after he left Flint. Donald was an avid race car fan and even participated in dirt-track racing in the 1950s.

He came to Walkertown to care for his aging mother and made it his home for his remaining years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Wanda Edwards, Shirley Gosnell and Ava Lee Spangler; and brothers, JG Banks and Larry Banks. Survivors include; two sisters, Ida Mae Banks Pate of Kernersville, NC and Gail Banks Gray and George of Dayton, TN; and several nieces and nephews who are very fond of, and share their love with him.
